Background Story
Semenjak kecil Feng tidak banyak memiliki teman. Kebanyakan temannya adalah teman sekedar menyapa jika bertemu di sekolah. Jika bertemu di luar, mereka akan bersikap layaknya orang asing. Salah satu alasannya adalah anugerah kapasitas otak luar biasa yang membuat Feng dengan mudah belajar berbagai macam hal. Mulai dari bahasa, sampai seputar bisnis yang seharusnya baru mulai diemban saat menduduki usia remaja. Hal ini membuat Feng merasa cepat bosan dengan kehidupan kanak-kanak. Pribadinya tumbuh dewasa dengan cepat, sehingga lebih sering memilih untuk mempelajari hal-hal baru dibandingkan bermain dengan teman sebayanya.
Saat berumur sepuluh tahun Feng dihadapkan oleh peristiwa buruk yang meninggalkan trauma. Seorang wanita depresi menculiknya lalu mengurungnya selama kurang lebih dua minggu di sebuah rumah tidak berpenghuni. Rumah tersebut jauh dari kata layak karena hampir seluruh konstruksinya sudah lapuk. Selama dua minggu kedua kaki diikat menggunakan cable ties. Kendati begitu, wanita depresi itu tetap memberikan Feng makan meski sama sekali tidak disentuh oleh Feng karena kebanyakan sudah kadaluarsa atau basi.
Feng dapat bebas dua minggu setelahnya karena wanita yang menculiknya memutuskan untuk bunuh diri dengan menggantung diri tepat di hadapan Feng. Suara pula posisi wanita tersebut masih terus membekas jelas dalam ingatan Feng hingga dewasa.
Menginjak pendidikan perguruan tinggi, Feng mengikuti program pertukaran pelajar ke Korea. Selama empat tahun ia mengemban pendidikan di sana lalu setelahnya kembali ke Beijing. Sayangnya kepulangan di penghujung bulan Juni itu tidak disambut oleh suka cita melainkan kedukaan. Kedua orang tuanya melangsungkan perceraian karena perselingkuhan sang ayah. Perselingkuhan itu berujung menghasilkan buah hati. Sehingga ayahnya harus menikahi selingkuhannya yang adalah janda beranak satu.
Feng akhirnya memutuskan untuk pergi ke Australia, melanjutkan studi strata dua di sana sebagai dalih dari kenyataan ingin menenangkan diri terlebih dahulu dari peristiwa buruk yang menimpa keluarganya. Setelah berhasil mendapatkan gelarnya, Feng kembali ke Korea tanpa mengunjungi China terlebih dahulu. Misinya adalah melebarkan sayap Hon Hai Ind. di negara Asia lainnya. Hon Hai membentuk bagian perusahaan lain, Foxconn Technology Group, yang mana bergerak pada bidang pembuatan komponen elektronik.
